You should consider what "sheen" would be best, whether any odor during the painting process can be tolerated (A low VOC paint can help remedy this), clean up and application procedures and tools you'll need to follow / buy. PPG has provided some useful information you can use to help answer these questions, found in the download link below...

How Much Drywall Do I Need? For a standard 8 foot ceiling the simple rule of thumb is 3 1/2 times the square footage of the room. An example...if your room is 8'x10', that's 80 square feet. 3 1/2 times 80 is 280 (3.5 x 80 = 280). Each sheet of drywall covers 32 sq feet (4 x 8 = 32) so you would divide 280 by 32 to get the number of sheets needed...in this case the result is 8.75 or rounded to 9 sheets (280 / 32 = 8.75; rounded to 9).

What Is The Rough Opening Of A 36 Inch Door?
The rough opening width is two (2) inches wider than the door itself. This accommodates the door jamb which is typically 3/4" thick (for a total of 1 1/2" if you include both sides) and allows a 1/2" shim space to fit the door into the opening so it is plumb.
